And we couldn’t be more excited.
This year we’re teaming up with Chad Stevens of Lyons Peak Brewing Company to lead you through a guided tasting of 3 different Krieks.
You may know Chad and Lyons Peak from their World Beer Cup Gold Medal in the Belgian-Style Fruited Beer category.
We’ll be featuring that beer, Handgeplukte Kriek (2025, Batch 1), alongside Cantillon Kriek Lambic Bio (Season 2019) and Drie Fonteinen Oude Kriek (Season 19|20).
To enhance the experience, Venissimo has put together a selection of blue cheese to pair with the beers.
We hope you can join us for this very limited one-of-a-kind tasting.

More about Lyons Peak & Chad:
If you don’t already know, Handgeplukte Kriek is a lambic-inspired fruited sour from Jamul, CA. This award winning beer doesn’t use just any ole fruit. It uses Schaerbeek cherries, the very same ones that Cantillon and 3F use. Well, almost the very same… In 2017 Chad met with Jean Van Roy of Cantillon fame, who introduced him to Kris Michielsen. Kris literally wrote the book on Schaerbeek (he’s a published author on the subject) and grows the trees that fruit the cherries used by Cantillon and 3F.
Fast forward 2 years to when Chad got approval from the USDA to begin importing Kris’s famous trees to Jamul. In 2020, he planted 200 trees…and only got 2 cherries from them the following harvest. In 2024, he harvested 1,200 pounds. The vision was fully realized in 2026 by winning gold at the World Beer Cup with these very same cherries.
