NORTH PARK

Bottlecraft North Park beer shop is a craft beer and wine store and cheese shop. The bar features twelve awesome beers on draft plus hundreds of bottles available to drink in or take to-go.

Our friendly and knowledgeable bartenders are passionate about craft beer and will help you find the perfect beer or wine to enjoy in our bar or to take home. We’ve carved out a portion of our store for a Venissimo Cheese counter with hundreds of cheeses available to-go, as well as cheese boards available to enjoy in our bar.

In addition to beer, we also offer wine, cider, and kombucha on draft and in bottle, available to drink on site or take-away.

We are conveniently located in the heart of North Park, in close proximity to South Park, Normal Heights, University Heights, Hillcrest, and Golden Hill.

ISM / Threes - Threehugger
West Coast IPA, 6.4%

A cross-coastal collab (say that three times fast) between new Long Beach favorite ISM and Brooklyn’s Threes Brewing, this beer exhibits everything needed for sitting outside in the park. Austere malt bill: check. Tropical Mosaic tones: check. Pleasant bitterness: check. Joined by Ekuanot, El Dorado and Strata, this IPA is a fine kickoff for sunny days around here!

Lowercase - London Pilsner
Hybrid Lager, 4.7%

Lowercase’s London Lager series - in conjunction with Machine House, a UK-focused brewery in the selfsame city of Seattle - explores the “what if?” notion of bottom-fermented beers with ingredients from the Isles. This seventh (and sadly, final) iteration ramps up the hopping to Pilsner niveaus. The Simpsons malt is really evident, with those biscuity, wicker-chair traits characteristic of so many English beers, while East Kent Golding and Whitbread Golding hops impart a fine herbal-tea top note.

Fremont - POG Gose
Fruited Gose, 4.5%

The Gose has come a long way from its Leipzig origins! It is no secret that saltiness and citrus go well together - it was only a matter of time before craft brewers began dosing these gently tart low-ABV beers with various fruits. With the immortal trilogy of passionfruit, orange & guava, Fremont has a summer refresher ready to go!

Petr Korab 2021 ‘Raspberries

WINE WEDNESDAY 🍷
Petr Korab 2021 ‘Raspberries on Ice’ is the chilled red you need at your next table, blanket or porch occasion. Petr Korab makes some of the most exciting wines from the Czech region of Moravia.

‘Raspberries...’ is made of equal parts Pinot Noir and St. Laurent. Picked early for freshness, gently pressed and briefly macerated, the wine still offers plenty of depth to pair with its effortlessly refreshing vibe. Raspberry, sweet earth and bright red cherry flavors that finish dry and light.

Chill it, pop it and watch it disappear!

GENE’S PICKS OF THE WEEK!

Kern River - Kern Krush
West Coast IPA, 7.0%

Longtime readers of this column will have been familiar with the hops varietal known as HBC-586. This first debuted in our neck of the woods with the 2022 harvest and quickly implanted itself in IPAs all around over the place. At last having been graced with a name - Krush - brewers can commence with incorporating it into the titles of their beers. And so join me in welcoming Kern Krush as an early spring release by Kern River. At its best, Krush reminds me of the berry-tones of Mosaic crossed with the resinous elements of Simcoe, alongside a pile of mango. Mark my words: many more beers will be showcasing this creation by the Hops Breeding Company in the coming years.

Wayfinder - Jaws of Damnation
Rice Lager, 5.3%

A new lager from Wayfinder is a must-try, no thinking necessary. And what a beer! Having just tasted a bevy of rice lagers during my time in Tokyo and Taipei over the last couple of weeks, I can attest that there is a wide range even within the style. Wayfinder has opted for a fuller-bodied (yet high-carbonation) take, to great effect. Immensely refreshing with food or as such! We just tapped a keg of this at Bottlecraft North Park an hour before these words were typed, so stop on by and ask for a taste?

Great Notion - Twisty
Smoothie Sour, 6.0%

Great Notion is at it again! This one is for those who enjoy heaps of fruit in their kettle-sours. With an abundance of blueberries, strawberries, some lemon zing and a touch of marshmallow for density, this beer is a parfait in a glass. Enjoy through a crazy straw, as the label recommends?
