Beers of the week July 25th, 2022

Our Bottlecraft North Park manager, Gene, selects his favorite beers of the week. You can stay up to date on our beer shop favorites through our news feed and also through our Instagram

1. Beachwood Brewing | Electrohop | West Coast IPA, 7.1%

If Beachwood releases a new West Coast IPA… you should try it. That goes double if they designate it for a special occasion such as their 11th anniversary! Everything we love about a Beachwood beer, distilled into pure essence. The hop-bill this time around is a blend of Mosaic, Mosaic Cryo, Nelson Sauvin and the high-alpha acid varietal Pahto. Cheers!

2. Fieldwork Brewing | Lovers & Losers | Bohemian Lager, 4.8%
I paid a visit to Fieldwork’s headquarters in my hometown of Berkeley last month, while up home visiting my folks. I was delighted to see that the number of lagers on the board has exploded of late! My father, who was along for the ride and has a penchant for Belgian yeast, ended up taking home two crowlers of Eleanor. Just a few short weeks later, we have lagers in cans from Fieldwork available at Bottlecraft – an unprecedented event. Lovers & Losers is a paean to the pale lagers of the Czech lands, with grainy pilsner malt and herbal hopping. Who could ask for anything more? Na Zdraví!

3. Alvarado Street Brewery | Las Brisas |Imperial Kettle Sour, 10%

Continuing their odyssey down the path of fruit-medley kettle sours, Alvarado Street has a new offering with Las Brisas. Punching above its weight with double-digit ABV, this tropical getaway of a beer blends guava, lime, mango, passionfruit, pineapple into a tangy-tart slurry. With label art evoking Paul Gauguin – perhaps a nod to the Tahitian origins of the lime utilized – Las Brisas is indeed breezy. ¡Salud!
